About SHADES

SHADES is a traveling event that aims to strengthen the voices, visibility, music, and artistic expression within multicultural and LGBTQIA+ communities. In other words, SHADES merges various popular public spaces in multiple cities with innovative themes for dance parties, outdoor meetups, and small business networking functions. 

We fold in nonprofit fundraising mixers to showcase DJ talent and a rotating humanitarian-based nonprofit beneficiary to maximize our mission. Our partnered organizations include Community Warehouse, PFLAG: Portland Black Chapter, Portland Black Pride, Cascade AIDS Project, AIDS  Walk Portland, OGALLA, Trans Lifeline, Q Center, SMYRC & SARC. 

Our collaborators and attendees inspire us with their support for community building, education, and social justice for human rights. SHADES also produces eco-friendly merchandise (e.g. fashion clothing, jewelry, and other accessories). SHADES was launched on February, 5th 2015. Follow us on Instagram!
